Warsaw, March 1, 2018 – Carrots Foundation has announced today that Małgosia Ratajska-Grandin has been named president of the largest Polish organisation promoting women in new technologies. Ilona Skarbowska, former president, remains in the organisation. Ilona will be responsible for the international development of Carrots.
The Carrots community is growing rapidly beyond Polish borders, we are preparing new partnerships, which is why we have created a separate position. I will be responsible for development of the network of cities and programs – says Ilona Skarbowska.
Małgosia Ratajska-Grandin, the new president of the Carrots Foundation, is an entrepreneur and partnership builder. She co-founded a digital health startup Yagram Health. In 2017, Małgosia was recognised as an Innovator under 35 by MIT Technology Review for the mobile app dedicated to mums-to-be. The same year, the startup that she co-created was chosen by Philips for the prestigious Healthworks program. In 2016 she won the 1st Prize in Bamboo Growth Pitch Competition. She started her career in Public Affairs in Brussels, where she worked for over 5 years. Małgosia graduated from the Political Sciences at the University of Warsaw and Université Panthéon-Sorbonne, she studied at Sciences Po Paris. Mother of two wonderful daughters Zosia (6 years old) and Julia (4 years old), she is a nature lover and a sailor.
Carrots Foundation has for objective to build a strong community of women interested in new technology, not only in Poland, but also in the world. As a Carrots community, we want to show that women co-create the avant-garde of innovation. Programming, building technological products is creating a new reality. Undoubtedly, it is a fascinating career path, but it is also a great responsibility. While creating new products and services, we need to keep in mind that they must have a positive impact on ourselves and our environment. I would like Carrots to speak with a strong feminine voice about artificial intelligence, automation, education, cybersecurity, blockchain, health / fintech, as I would like values such as connecting people, innovation, openness which Carrots promote, and which accompanied the creation of the world-wide web, become the driving force of newly created projects – says Małgorzata Ratajska-Grandin.
