As Geek Girls Carrots we’ve been supporting women and diversity in IT since 2011. So we decided it’s high time to invite you to the first hackathon of our community – Hacking Carrots. Together, we’ll be be looking for solutions for the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Artificial intelligence, extended reality or the internet of things? What technology would you use to solve the problems of education, business, cities and fake news?

Mentors you know from our meetups. Carrots that started to program with us. Carotenes who believe in the power of diverse teams and actively support their female colleagues in developing their careers in IT.

Together we code for a better world. The Hacking Carrots concept was based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In this edition, we will lsolve problems in for education (Future-proof Education), business (AI in Business), cities (Smart Cities) and credibility of information (Civic Tech).

Because we know that the comfort of work when you’re coding for hours in a row is priceless. That’s why we meet in spacious HubHub interiors on ul. Postępu 14. We’re preparing for you comfortable work stations, but also a two-level relax zone and a summer garden. We’re also family-friendly so we’re setting kids zone 🙂

The main prize is 25 000 PLN – but that’s not all!
The best teams will receive support from hackathon partners (Capgemini, PwC, Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, HubHub, City of Warsaw) tailored to their needs. From the main financial prize, through extensive expert support in implementation, to paid internships for those who want to start a career in IT.
How will we fulfill our promises?
When everyone simply sells the tickets to their hackathons, we ask you some questions first. Thanks to this, we have a better chance to secure a friendly atmosphere (diversity [muscle]), we give you time to refine your ideas before you apply and we can help you match the teams at Friday speed dating with freelancers 🙂
